I thought my current Android smartphone that I purchased back in early of 2019 would last longer than my older Android devices before this one, it's because the batteries on those of my aforementioned older devices had seemingly crappy battery life... However, I encountered a problem where it's own battery itself suddenly had crappy battery life, yet it also indicated by how the whole device itself looked a bit crooked on one of the sides specifically on the back part of the said device itself. Well, it's time to find the actual truth about how come if it suddenly occurred particularly like so, until how I was able to troubleshoot the problem itself later on.📱🔋
Basically, I've been heavily using this particular daily driver for more than 5 years without any signs of issues whatsoever since I newly acquired it from then. Ranging from various stuffs from opening bunch of social media apps, editing pictures or videos on it, taking photos and videos, until all the way to playing some games on it, albeit it's obviously somewhat underwhelming nowadays compared to majority of those modern day Android phones that are available on market nowadays. When it comes to the battery life itself, they claimed if the battery itself originally would last for almost a day (or two), depending on which apps or games that I open, otherwise it would end up draining it faster if I keep doing it for too long.📱🔋
However, since roughly a year ago (or two), I realized if it's own battery itself suddenly went weaker overtime, specifically when I opened certain apps that usually drain it's own battery life quicker, which technically would do so as what I worried for... It also eventually made the matters itself even worse since around the beginning of this year, it's own battery life itself just went weaker than ever, which means it originally used to last for almost a day (or two), but then it only lasted for LESS than an hour (or even LESS than several minutes [depending on the usage of it]). I also realized when this occurred all the time, my entire device just heated up in such an unusual way, even if I mostly put the device itself on standby. It also made me shocked upon I checked the back part of it by opening the rubber case of the device itself, because one of the sides just suddenly went crooked! You know that means... My phone's battery just already inflated for real! Yep, even if it did so slightly, but that's the definite reason about how come if I felt a little bit uncomfortable every single time using it during this occurred. Moreover, I also worried if I keep recklessly using it in that exact state (including about how I charged it every single time, which I did it way more often during this occurred [yet it also sometimes wouldn't charge all the way up to 100%]), the non-removable battery itself would either explodes or erupts into smoke by all of the sudden if I still don't take a serious action with it yet.📱🔋
My phone's old faulty battery, notice for the year of it's production printed on it though... |
Well then, after I decided to take the aforementioned serious action for real by replacing it's own old faulty battery with a new one, it now does last longer like what it originally used to be...... sort of. The phone repair technician revealed the actual truth about why my phone's old battery suddenly did that, it's because there was something shorted on it, therefore it caused all of those weird overheating and slight inflating behaviors during I used it in that state just earlier. Even though it also costed IDR 200.000 for replacing it in his service center, but it was really manageable for doing so anyway, as if it's still works just reasonably okay after all these years since I acquired the whole device itself from then... Just like what I clearly stated just earlier, depending on which apps or games that I open specifically on it, otherwise it'll drain it's own battery life faster if I keep recklessly doing it for too long. Oh, and one more thing, unlike most of those modern day Android smartphones that they currently sell these days which they claimed if they can charge any of those phone's batteries approximately within two hours (or even less, thanks to their original charging adapters), this one still charges it's own battery for at least 4 hours from anywhere near 0% to 100% (depending on what kind of aftermarket charging adapters that I use for charging it though, otherwise it will takes a while to do so for sure [it's because the original charging adapter that came with it was dead, which I also trashed it away as well]).📱🔋
If you have your own experience regarding to this exact situation with your own phones, please let me know particularly about it in the comments section if you're able to. Anyway, that's basically it for what I could say to this update article specifically about how come if my phone's battery suddenly does so, and pay attention when it comes to treating your own phones, especially when it's own battery life suddenly goes weaker overtime, or on worse scenario, it will end up becoming like that for sure.
