FAQs: my childhood YouTube stuffs...

Believe or not, I watched any kinds of YouTube videos particularly since 2012. Although the ones that I'm watching right now are basically just the ones that resembles to what I usually upload on both of my own YouTube channels that I have, but there were even more of YouTube videos of any kind that I ever watched particularly since then... Without further ado, let me answer them into this sort of frequently asked question essays, ranging from the common ones, until all the way to bunch of those specific ones that are related to both of my own YouTube channels. So, here are my essays particularly about them, right away.

Q : What was your very first YouTube videos that you ever watched in general?

A : My very first YouTube videos that I ever watched were various videos of drum band parades performed by various schools (mainly junior high schools and senior high schools) in Rantepao (North Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia). Those videos were originally recorded specifically several days after our entire country's 62th independence day (August 17th, 2007)... Those were also my very first YouTube videos which I also downloaded them from the internet, and surprisingly I still keep most of them, although those were got deleted from YouTube later on since around a decade ago. 🥁

Q : Did you ever watch that legendary Jawed's "Me at the zoo" video that he uploaded back in 2005?

A : Unfortunately, no I didn't.

Q : How did you able to watch YouTube videos initially in those times specifically from then?

A : I used to watch them casually using a browser on my very first laptop, which I connected to the internet using a (some sort of) painfully slow USB modem that always didn't deliver it's own internet access very well... Even though I also used to have my very first smartphone, but that also wasn't really that reliable to do so, because I always opened the browser instead of the YouTube app itself.

Q : What was your very first YouTube gaming videos that you ever watched in general?

A : If I guessed that right, both of the original game trailers of Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies, respectively... That also applied to most of the retro gaming videos too, because the fact I used to play some of those NES or Famicom games on my old Famiclone that I used to own (which the one that I used to have was the one that shaped like original Playstation 1), and so for those of the bootleg Game Boy Advance multicarts that contained hundreds of NES or Famicom games that I also used to play them on my old original Game Boy Advance. 🎮

Q : What was your very first YouTube music videos that you ever watched or listened?

A : This might be a tricky question, but my very first YouTube music videos that I ever watched or listened were various of music covers from one of my favorite dangdut koplo bands in our whole country that were existed in those days (specifically from East Java province), though those videos were deleted due to the obvious copyright infringement... As for any foreign music tracks that I ever listened, those of the 009 Sound System songs were also the inclusions for this too, since I watched many of those electric fan videos, most of the people used to equip random songs from themselves in those days (which YouTube obviously demonetized them anyway, including most of mine as well).🎶

Q : What was your very first YouTube animation videos (of any kind) that you ever watched?

A : Those of the earliest Alan Becker's creations of his famous animated cartoon videos, followed by FunVideoTV's 3D fanmade animation videos of their own Angry Birds stuffs.

Q : What was your very first YouTube channel that you ever subscribed?

A : Rfm vs Games, because the fact I started enjoying Plants vs. Zombies franchise since then, I also decided to watch YouTube videos in it's days by subscribing him thanks to his entertaining contents that were relevant to the aforementioned franchise itself.🎮

Q : What was your very first YouTube electric fan video that you ever watched in general?

A : "World's Loudest Ceiling Fan".

Q : What was your very first YouTube electric fan videos by some collectors and enthusiasts that you ever watched in general?

A : There were plenty of those that I watched since then, especially that one ceiling fan collection video by a fan collector who used to live in a trailer park filled with themselves... However, certain people such as Vintage Fans & More (formerly known as Cole S.), Dan "Spiffy" Neuman, and Pankaat (that one fan collector from UAE) were the ones that I always recognized the most until today.

Q : What was your very first YouTube electric fan videos specifically from your country that wasn't from your own?

A : From what I remembered since then, those of TheeXtremeFanEnthusiast's first electric fan videos that he uploaded in the late of 2013. Not only just that, I also watched bunch of electric fan videos by a guy who lives in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia (unfortunately, his old channel got deleted later on in favor of his current one that exists since few years ago [though some of his friends were able to retrieve some of his old footages of themselves]).

Q : What was your very first YouTube smashing stuff video that you ever watched in general?

A : That one Beno's video of him smashing a desk fan and messing around with it's own 220v/50Hz AC motor that came with it, simple as that.🔨

Q : What was your very first YouTube smashing stuff channels that you ever subscribed?

A : Garret Claridge and Shawn K... For Garret Claridge's case, it's because it was my very first YouTube smashing stuff channel that I ever subscribed thanks to his unique contents of mainly blowing speakers and smashing random items (though most of them were vintage electronics though, so yeah)... Meanwhile, as for the Shawn K's case, I was impressed by the way how he and Matt smashed random electronic items in their own entertaining way which caused I sometimes laughed every single time I watched his destruction videos (though they both also ever destroyed certain random vintage electronic items, especially for that Macintosh Classic II that they both did in 2013, but it's okay I guess).🔨

Q : What was your very first YouTube toy review videos that you ever watched?

A : Probably the reviews of those of the Jazwares sets of the original Plants vs. Zombies mini figure sets (both blister packs and blind bags). Those were existed right when K'NEX mini figure sets of themselves still yet to be existed until roughly around a year later... Not sure for other franchises like Angry Birds though.

Q : What was your very first YouTube bootleg toy review videos that you ever watched?

A : Those reviews of the weird, cheap bootleg Plants vs. Zombies mini figure brick sets, including plenty of those that ripped off their packaging from K'NEX.

Q : What was your very first YouTube device review videos of any kind that you ever watched?

A : I believe it was that Ashens' video of reviewing that exact fake iPhone 4, called "Airphone 4", followed by most of his "Pop Station" mini LCD handheld games that he reviewed too... Bootleg devices aside, I couldn't remember my very first YouTube's official device review videos that I ever watched though (including those that are particularly available from our entire country too).

Q : Apart from electric fans, toys, gaming stuffs, music, marching or drum band stuffs, smashing stuffs, and hardware reviews...... What was your first random YouTube videos that weren't from those of the aforementioned categories that you ever watched?

A : Somewhere around a decade ago, I used to watch various random YouTube videos that weren't from those of the said categories; those were abandoned places videos, random compilation videos, random skit videos, random documentary videos, and so on.

Well then, there you have it for my frequently asked question essays particularly about my own childhood YouTube stuffs. If you have your own good old memories regarding to this particular article, feel free to share your own story in the comments section if you still recognized them though from your own perspective. That's it for what I could particularly say about this particular topic, and cheers!

My mini ceiling fans that were once existed on my collection...

It's been a while since I made bunch of my YouTube fan videos of themselves, so it's time for explaining about those of my mini ceiling fans that were once existed on my collection. However, all of them had their own stories per each of those, which I ended up got rid each of them for good (except for one of them which it simply lost). Without further ado, let me list all of those aforementioned mini ceiling fans that I'm referring to, right away.

1. Another Elitesat FC-08-50 500mm

First off, you may recognize this exact blue Elitesat mini ceiling fan which I featured bunch of times on my YouTube channel already, but I actually used to have another identical Elitesat mini ceiling fan, and that one was my very first mini ceiling fan that I ever purchased in my life back in 2008, followed by this one. It worked similarly as this one, except it was slightly less wobbly compared to this one too... It initially used to mount in the living room of that house (and so for this one), but then I decided to move it in two different bedrooms of that house (and so for this one too). However, during the mini renovation of my childhood house where I used to born in there, I accidently forgot about where I temporarily saved both of these while both of them were dismantled from the ceiling (including this one), therefore I lost that one, which means this one was the only one that remained until one of it's own original blades broke off and lost. I had no clue about how come if I accidently lost that particular one, but I also feel sad for not keeping that with me.

2. Extend 700mm

After I purchased both of those Elitesat mini ceiling fans, I also purchased this one. It was also my very first mini ceiling fan that was larger than 500mm, although the color of it was roughly the same (albeit it was brighter). It worked perfectly fine, and it generated averagely the same amount of air delivery as both of those Elitesats were, except it was slightly less. Everything about it was okay until I decided to mount it in the kitchen of my childhood house, right after I used to mount it in the living room of that house first... Due to the intense heat of the kitchen itself, it caused all of it's own blades broke off so easily by itself. So that was basically it, I wasn't even able to glue it's own brittle blades probably due to they simply lost right when they broke per each of them while it was operating, which I also ended up trashing it later on.

3. Meet 500mm

Well, after roughly 5 years since I purchased both of those Elitesats and Extend, I finally purchased my very first mini ceiling fan that wasn't in blue color, which was this one. It did generate fairly good amount of air thanks to slightly steeper blade pitch that it had compared to those of my aforementioned blue mini ceiling fans that I purchased a while before, except for that one hiccupping problem while it was hanging in the living room of that house. This problem literally lasted until one of it's own blades broke off by itself. Due to the weird state of it, there was no way to fix it which I ended up trashing it later on, except for one of it's own blades which I used it on that remaining Elitesat there in those times.

4. Sivicom FC-08-50 (SV-500) 500mm

Not too long after I purchased that Meet, I also purchased this one simply because of how different it looked compared to the average mini ceiling fans that were available on sale in those times. Although this one was cheaper than that Meet, it worked perfectly fine without hiccupping problems, and it generated reasonably good amount of air with it's own original white blades (it's because this was the old version of it, meanwhile for the newer versions have turquoise blades)... During those times in my childhood house, it initially used to mount in the living room of that house. However, after I moved out from that house, it eventually moved into one of the bedrooms (which used to be my bedroom of that house), until I decided to pluck it with me and mount it in the kitchen of my previous house, and then one of the family's relative's replaced it with the Oshaky in that exact room of my childhood house.

During those times in my previous house, it managed to last for approximately 6 years before it stopped working suddenly by itself. Well, after it stopped working specifically like so, I let my dad to take it down, but for some reason he decided to do so by passing it's own motor to the top part of the wood travers of the asbestos roof above that house's back porch, which caused the it's own motor housing got dented severely. Although I was able to salvage it's own original blades, but I was once used it as a horizontal windmill by removing some parts of it's own synchronous motor, except I used Jiamei blades on it. It was all that fun until a random squirrel that came from nowhere accidently dropped it while it was hanging, which caused all of the Jiamei blades that I equipped on it got destroyed to bunch of small mosaic pieces, right when it got impacted to the concrete. Due to the state of it after that exact accident, I ended up trashing the motor itself later on.

5. Bright-G FC-08-50 (BG-500) 500mm

Some of you may recognize this exact Bright-G mini ceiling fan that I purchased specifically back in 2015, which I mounted it in the back porch of my previous house along with my other mini ceiling fans that I used to mount in there. Judging by the classic style of it, it was a new old stock fan according to one of the online fellow fan enthusiasts... As for the fan itself, it worked perfectly fine and generated fairly good amount of air. However, instead of keeping it with me like the rest of my mini ceiling fans that I'm currently own, I decided to give it away for free to my vocational high school in order to install it in the canteen of that school (don't ask me about how come if I did so). However, some of the senior students didn't able to connect it's own cable properly, which they ended up trashing it instead in that location, including about how come if they also destroyed those blades too. 🤦‍♂️

6. Bright-G FD-10-70E 700mm

Believe or not, this one was purchased initially by my dad in order to mount this in his main workplace first until it's own original blades broke off (which for that case, in order to replace one of the Jiamei mini clip fans in there)... After all of it's own blades broke off, he was able to find another nearly identical blade set that perfectly fit of it by simply glued all of them on it. Then, he asked me in order to bring it home from his personal workplace, and I decided to mount it in the kitchen of my previous house in 2021. It worked just alright, except it used to have all of that squeaking and grinding noises while it's operating until I was able to fix it by oiling it's own synchronous motor. Everything about it was okay until the time where I moved out from there in 2023, I had to take it down even with it's own daily beater condition that it particularly had (because my mom always turned it on while she used to cook in there). After I moved out from there, I was once attempted to remove it's own brittle blades out from it (and so for cleaning it), but I ended up breaking them instead due to the difficulty of me tried to do so with all of it's own blades that he glued into it. Due to the horrible state that it specifically had, unfortunately I decided to trash it away.

Before I wrap up this article, here are two random fans that were once existed but then I got rid of each of them later on, except I didn't purchase both of these in the first place (though one of them wasn't even from my collection anyway). So, both of those fans were:

  • Unknown black-red oldie 500mm : This one was originally purchased by my cousin back in ~2005 (if I guessed that right), and it used to mount in one of the bedrooms of my childhood house before he and his parents moved into his current house (including this fan by installing it on his bedroom). It lasted for approximately 7 years before it broke off and replaced by that 500mm Shukaku SKU MF-50, however I was once able to pluck it from his current house and use it as a display of my mini ceiling fan collection in my previous house, even if all of it's own red blades were lost already. Due to the fact it was broken since then, I just got rid of it right when I moved out from my previous house.
  • Jiamei JM-590 700mm : This one was originally purchased by one of my family's relative's from my mom's side in early of 2016 in order to mount it inside my grandma's bedroom of my childhood house. After she was deceased in 2017, my dad eventually used this fan in his main workplace, in order to replace his HTC industrial ceiling fan with it a year later. It lasted for few years before it stopped working by itself. I was able to salvage it's own blades, but unfortunately he decided to trash the motor itself later on.

Well then, there you have it for those mini ceiling fans that were once existed on my collection, but then I had to get rid each of them for good due to each of the reasons that I already mentioned above (except for one of them, which it was simply lost). If you have your own good old memories regarding to this particular topic, feel free to share your own story in the comments section if your memory serves it right. That's it for what I could particularly say about this particular topic, and as always, thanks for reading this exact article.

Ceiling fans in closed down stores around my hometown...🏬🏪

Around my hometown where I do live since I was born, there were plenty of stores that used to have various ceiling fans inside each of them. However, each of those places had their own story about how come if each of them just closed down due to various issues per each of them, including several of them which are now gone (including those fans inside). Without further ado, here are my short lists about them, shall we?

  • There was a bookstore that had bunch of old National orbit ceiling fans (the models of them were F-EQ403/F-EQ403-1 [❔], and F-EQ407, respectively), in addition of some KDK industrial exhaust fans in the back part of the place itself. Due to the store itself suddenly went out of business, it unfortunately got closed down and leased in around the last year. However, the store itself still left all of those fans inside, but I have no clue whether if they eventually get rid of them later on.
  • A small vintage store that had 2 KDK WZ56Q industrial ceiling fans, which I already recorded my original video of them both briefly back in 2015. Judging by the interior of it, it possibly used to be a cassette store that was once existed back in somewhere in ~80s, then in the meantime I recorded my aforementioned video of them both, it also used to be a small buffet restaurant. The place itself was closed down and leased, but I'm pretty sure if they left both of them inside.
  • A Soto restaurant that consisted of 2 Uchida Millennium industrial ceiling fans, which I already recorded my 🥔 video of them both briefly back in 2013. The place itself was closed down since a while ago, but I'm pretty sure if they still left both of them though.
  • A small clothing store that had National F-EY149-2 (❔) industrial ceiling fan, which replaced one of the two Matsunichi (❔) orbit ceiling fans with ludicrously wacky orbital movement. The place itself was closed down since a long time ago, but the fan itself is still left inside (and possibly one of those Matsunichi [❔] orbit ceiling fans).
  • A clothing store that had 3 Regency orbit ceiling fans and an Uchida Arctic decorative ceiling fan. The place itself was closed down since a while ago, but all of those fans themselves are still installed inside.
  • A boutique store that had Panasonic F-560A1 industrial ceiling fan, which I already recorded my original 🥔 video of it back in 2014, then followed by remake of it back in 2015 and another remake video of it in 2019. The place itself suddenly closed down since sometime ago, but the fan itself is still installed inside.
  • An old motorcycle store that had 48" DEMC industrial ceiling fan. It was closed down since more than a decade, but the fan itself is possibly still left inside.
  • A jewelry store that used to have Diamond industrial ceiling fan, which was closed down since a long time ago. I have no clue whether if the fan itself got removed or not, since the place itself seems to be intact even if it's closed.
  • Another jewelry store that had National F-EY149 industrial ceiling fan inside. The place itself was closed down since more than a decade ago, but the fan itself still left inside.
  • A small clothing store that consisted of 48" 70s SMC K48 and National F-EY149 industrial ceiling fans, which I recorded briefly in 2014 using one of my old 🥔 Android devices that I used to own. The place itself is now closed down and vacant, but both of them are still installed inside.
  • A boutique that consisted of 2 National F-560A1 industrial ceiling fans. The place itself is now closed down and vacant, but both of them are still installed inside.
  • A vintage boutique store that used to have vintage National F-EQ408 (❔) orbit ceiling fan. The entire place itself was closed down including the aforementioned fan itself, and it recently got replaced by a cafe.
  • An old cassette store that used to have National F-EY149-1 (❔) industrial ceiling fan. The place itself was closed down since more than roughly 2 decades ago, and recently they replaced it with a cafe without keeping it.
  • There was a small drugstore nearest from my childhood house, used to have National F-560A1 industrial ceiling fan. It was removed several months before the time when the store itself closed down, yet the entire place itself is now replaced with a boutique store.
  • A small variety store that used to have Panalux industrial ceiling fan with all of it's own blades were bent down, due to the way how they installed in in such cramped space. The place itself was closed down, and the fan itself also got removed.
  • A (some sort of) electronic parts store used to have Greet (❔) industrial ceiling fan. The place itself is now long gone (and so for the aforementioned fan itself), and it got replaced by the bank's expansion.
  • A 💈 shop that used to have 48" CMC industrial ceiling fans, painted in red color. The place itself was closed down and demolished, and it recently replaced by an expansion of the supermarket (which surprisingly has bunch of industrial ceiling fans inside).
  • A variety store that used to have CMC Flashycom industrial ceiling fan, which I recorded my original video of it in 2014 and remake video of it in 2015. The place itself was closed down and the fan itself got removed, and it recently replaced it with a cafe.
  • A 🛍 store that used to consist of 2 CMC Niko (❔) industrial ceiling fans. The place itself was closed down since a while ago, but I'm pretty sure if both of them were removed already.
  • A fruit shop that used to have CMC and 48" Guang Dian (❔) industrial ceiling fans, which this place also used to have another CMC which got removed firstly. The place itself eventually went out of business yet they removed all of those fans, and then the entire place itself was replaced by a cafe.
  • A small fried chicken restaurant that used to have 48" Uchida industrial ceiling fan. The place itself was closed down and the fan itself was removed, yet it recently replaced with a roasted bread eatery without it.
  • An old cafe and karaoke place that was located in the corner of the intersection, used to have few black National F-EY141 industrial ceiling fans. The entire place itself was closed down since almost two decades ago, and all of those fans were removed already. FYI, this exact place also used to be another cafe that used to have some MT. EDMA ceiling fans inside, but then the place itself also got closed down right after almost a year later (I have no clue whether if they still left those fans though).
  • A fried chicken restaurant that used to have 2 Sanyo industrial ceiling fans. The entire place itself was closed down since few years ago, and both of them were removed already.
  • A bookstore that used to have 3 Sanyo industrial ceiling fans. The entire place itself was closed down since few years ago, and all of them were removed already... It recently got replaced with a Miniso store.
  • An old clothing store that used to have 10 National F-EQ401 (❔) orbit ceiling fans, which I recorded my 🥔 video of it briefly back in 2014. Due to fatal administration issues that was occurred in that store, it got closed down and all of those fans were removed already.*
  • An old shoe store that used to have a 48" Evernal (❔) industrial ceiling fan, installed in such low ceiling. The place itself was closed down yet the aforementioned fan itself also got removed, and it recently replaced by a cafe.
  • Another clothing store that used to have of 4 Panasonic, 1 KDK and 1 Maspion orbit ceiling fans (which the KDK and Panasonics replaced all of those Maspions), which I already recorded my original video of it with all of those Maspions in 2015 and remake video featuring those of the aforementioned replacement fans in the late of 2017. FYI, before this place was initially existed, it used to be some sort of variety store that used to have 3 old 48" Matsunichi and 48" CMC industrial ceiling fans (which one of the Matsunichis got replaced by a 48" National F-EY129-2 [❔])... Due to fatal administration issues that was occurred in that store, it got closed down and all of those fans were removed already.*
  • A fairly large supermarket and arcade game center that used to have certain old industrial ceiling fans (such as CMCs, Alaskas [PT. AMI], Diamond [which was just like a CMC], and National F-EY149-1s), and National F-EQ403-1 (?) orbit ceiling fan. That place also had other fans like Katsu and CKE industrial wall fans, unknown industrial exhaust fans, and some KDK industrial exhaust fans that replaced those of the unknown industrial exhaust fans. I already recorded my original 🥔 video of it briefly back in 2013, and then followed by my remake video of it 2 years later. Due to fatal administration issues that was occurred in that store, the entire place itself was moved into another location and all of those fans were removed already.*
  • A clothing store that used to have 4 Uchida Millennium industrial ceiling fans. Due to fatal administration issues that was occurred in that store, it got closed down and all of those fans were removed already.*

* means not only the fact they were closed down, the entire government from my hometown also seized those places in order to reuse them as their own property.

Well then, those are literally the ones that I recognized through all these years since I created my YouTube channel that is dedicated for them, so. If you have your own short stories regarding to this particular topic, feel free to share your own story in the comments section if your memory serves it right. That's it for what I could particularly say about this particular topic, and as always, thanks for reading this exact article.

The truth behind my dad's old Maspion orbit ceiling fan...

After I made 6 videos particularly about it since I made my own YouTube channel of fans from more than a decade ago, which my videos of them were:

  1. Original video from 2014,
  2. First remake video from 2015,
  3. Second remake video from 2019,
  4. Update video from 2020,
  5. Third remake video from this year, and
  6. Another update video from this year

This time, I decided to tell you specifically about how come if my dad literally acquired this exact old Maspion MOF-40 orbit ceiling fan since first time he acquired it from more than roughly 2 decades ago. Without further ado, let me share my own short story about how come if my dad owned this particular old orbit ceiling fan since then.

Basically, he acquired this old Maspion particularly from someone else which I had no clue where it originally came from, and it originally didn't work at all. However, he was able to resurrect it by repairing it's own fan motor (and possibly it's own internal wiring) to make it works again, including it's own orbital motor too (if I guessed that right)... Every parts on the entire fan itself were seemingly original (including it's own 3-speed regulator that came with it), judging by how this fan used to equip that one transparent light blue blade set before the aforementioned blade itself broke. From what I could recognize back in those good old days before I recorded my original video of it, it originally used to work on all 3 speeds like what it is now, except the low and medium speeds were way slower, and eventually it used to stuck on low speed just like what I clearly showed in my original 2014 video of it. As for the original orbital motor that used to equip on it back in those days, it used to work like what it is now, except it was a tiny bit faster (but not as fast as my 2020 update video of it), before it eventually stopped working somewhere before I recorded my original 2014 video of it.

Through many years since he acquired it specifically since then, it eventually ran into few noticeable issues, such as it used to work only on one speed, it used to barely blow any air delivery with that one solid dark blue blade that was once equipped on it, and it also caused one of the LED lights in his personal workplace just flickered endlessly as well, which occurred few months ago before a repairman repaired the entire thing to make it works better later on... However, after the repairman did the aforementioned job for doing so, it now works better as what I and he expected, in addition about how he was able to replace certain parts with a better one (such as fan motor, orbital motor, capacitor [❔], and the blade set itself). Even though right after that repairman already repaired it, it also used to suddenly stop working entirely by itself before he decided to call another repairman to repair it again. With the current state that it has since I made my second update video of it from this year, I'm glad if it's still works great after all these years in general, even if it used to ran into few of those aforementioned issues that I already mentioned just earlier.

Well, there you have it for the truth behind my dad's old Maspion orbit ceiling fan. If you have your good old memories regarding to this exact topic (such as watching those of my old videos about it, or owning experience with one of those orbit ceiling fans of the similar brand and model if you have at least one of those [except for generation, unless if you still somehow keep it or not]), feel free to share your own story in the comments section if your memory serves it right. That's it for what I could particularly say about this particular topic, and as always, thanks for reading this short article.

vintage ceiling fan sites...❔

Being an electric fan enthusiast, pretty sure if I already visited some sites that literally explained about vintage ceiling fans, right? Well, yes, but only two of them that are recognizable specifically in my own mind, since I literally visited both of those sites, but now only one of them that are still remains, even if most parts of the remaining entire site itself is now no longer accessible like one of them would for some reason. Without further ado, let me particularly explain two of those vintage ceiling fan sites, shall we?

Note: Even if I recognized both of these sites, I never log in to each of them both. Which means, I only visited both of them purely for viewing purposes only.

A. vintageceilingfans.com (Adam D.)

"vintageceilingfans.com"  main page

Started off with my most recognizable vintage ceiling fan sites that I ever visited, which is the "vintageceilingfans.com", owned by the legitimate owner himself who also owns his YouTube channel of the same name as the site that he made there... Believe or not, I visited bunch of his sites through 3 different sections of his entire site many times, ranging from visiting his own gallery of his own vintage ceiling fan acquisitions, until all the way to checking his entire Proboards forum of it, consists of discussing anything about it (and certain other things such as vintage portable fans) from various fan enthusiast members around the world through many of those forum threads since more than two decades ago, which majority of them are from the US and Canada (with few exception such as that one fan collector from UAE and certain others).

Even though this particular website still exists after all these years, I already encountered some flaws while I'm visiting some of his own sites in general. Those are:

  • Majority of the fan enthusiasts and collectors who posted in his entire Proboards forum of it, hosted their own pictures using Photobucket. Because Photobucket recently doing their own mega pay-to-win features, they decided to delete them later on. Some of those pictures that are still remains in there do have their obvious Photobucket watermark on each of them.
  • His separate member galleries site is now no longer accessible since a while ago. I tried to access it (as of nowadays), and it leads to a 503 error code.
  • I tried to visit each of the member's personal forum threads in his entire Proboards forum site of it in order to check their own threads, it didn't allow me to do so if I didn't log in to there yet.

B. DT Vintage Fans (Zachary Yarnes)

DT Vintage Fans main page

Another vintage ceiling fan site that used to exist alongside with that "vintageceilingfans.com" site that I mentioned just earlier, which was DT Vintage Fans, owned by a YouTuber nicknamed Zachary Yarnes. It had roughly similar fashion just like that "vintageceilingfans.com" site as a whole, but with some differences between this and that one, those are:

  • Unlike "vintageceilingfans.com" which had 3 sections of the site itself (such as main site, separate member galleries site, and forum site), this one simply had 2 sections, which only consisted of just main site + galleries combo and forum site (which he also used Proboards too), respectively.
  • Unlike "vintageceilingfans.com" which prominently featured almost all of the fan brands around the entire world in that separate member galleries section of that site, this one only featured various fan brands that were available exclusively in the US and Canada in his own member galleries of the main site itself, including certain overseas brands that were made their way to both of those aforementioned countries too (for example: SMC, Matsushita brands [KDK, National or Panasonic], Sanyo, Mistral, Hitachi, etc.).

For some reason, the entire site itself just suddenly vanished from the internet. Simple as that, and I really had no clue about what was wrong with the entire site itself. Before it occurred, I used to visit the main site itself casually, specifically checking for various galleries of themselves through their respective brands in general without any issues. I also remembered right after the entire site went vanished, it literally redirected into a random site that had nothing to do with the URL link itself (specifically about how the "www" on the address bar just immediately changed into "ww7" for unbelievably odd reason). Not too long after I visited that particular random site that used this exact URL link, all I got from that URL link is now blank site............ although you could able to see the remnants of all of that stuffs from it using Wayback Machine.

Well then, there you have it for my short story of those two vintage ceiling fan sites that I recognized the most, although only one of them that still remains until today. If you have your own memories of visiting both of those sites online, feel free to share your own story particularly about it in the comments section if you're able to. Anyway, that's it for what I could particularly say about this particular topic, and as always, thanks for reading this article.

my fan fellow enthusiast gifted me a ceiling exhaust fan for free!

"Wait, what? You got another free gift from another YouTuber after all of your favorite mini figures from a famous YouTuber with more than 1M subscribers that you did back in 2018?" Even though this was slightly less exciting compared to those mini figures that I acquired back then, this is specifically because in fact one of my famous electric fan enthusiast YouTubers from our country with ~45K subscribers literally gifted one of his fans for real (for this case, a NIB ceiling exhaust fan). Without further ado, let me explain about how he ended up doing so in general, right away.

The ceiling exhaust fan itself... (the brand of it is Kirin)

Basically, he casually asked me in one of the social media's direct message chat (for this case, Instagram's direct message chat). At first glance, he asked about how's the current state of myself in general (especially about the current financial condition of me and both of my parents after those of the dreadful pandemic times), until how he secretly checked one of my YouTube channel's community posts about why my parent's bedroom in my current house lacked any proper ventilation whatsoever. As what I clearly stated on that aforementioned community post about it, here's the statement that I made specifically about it, in case you've wondering:

"when it's hot outside, almost all of the rooms in my current compact house goes hot AF, especially for this room... yes, it has a window in there, but due to the fact the window itself is located between it and the kitchen, yet the window itself also got blocked by the fridge right behind it, i can't even open it anymore with ease, therefore this room lacks any of proper ventilation whatsoever..."

"i feel like i want to install a ceiling exhaust fan inside there, but i don't think if i will do it soon because i obviously don't have enough budget for purchasing and installing it though..."-Me

Yep, that's basically the reason about why that particular room of my current house lacked the said ventilation, therefore it always feel so hot when it's sunny outside. I mean, it's not bad compared to those times before I moved into this exact house, which was in the portion of my dad's main workplace (it was WAY too hot when it's sunny outside every single time, thanks to the asbestos roof that it literally has, even if I installed my old exhaust fan on there too, but it turned out if that didn't help that much). Also, the reason about why I chose the ceiling exhaust fan instead of the regular one, it's due to the location of the room itself has no access to install one of those regular exhaust fans anyway... Well, he took an opportunity to troubleshoot the problem by giving me a NIB ceiling exhaust fan for free. Before he even did so afterwards, I almost refused it because I'd love to purchase one of those from any of the hardware stores or electronic stores in my hometown instead. But, with all of his reasons specifically about how he felt so pity to most of the fan enthusiasts including myself, he actually did it anyway to me by sending it straight into my current compact house where I'm currently settling in nowadays since I moved into here last year.

Further view of the ceiling exhaust fan itself...

After I waited for few days, an expedition car arrived in front of my house, and one of the courier delivered the mail that contained the said ceiling exhaust fan itself. Upon I received it, I opened the mail itself, and there was the thing itself inside it's own box! Again, although this was slightly less exciting compared to those mini figures that I acquired back then, at least this DOES have it's own key function in order to exhausting air out from that room indeed... In order to install it, I decided to call the same electrician who used to install my ceiling fan in my house by making the hole of it on the ceiling, followed by how he connected it using a cable between it and the wall switch, which he also replaced the old single light switch with a double one (one is obviously for light for that room, and the other is for the fan itself). It took approximately an hour of how he installed it, and after he did so, I decided to test it by simply flicking the switch that connects to it. Sure, it makes some difference compared to those times without it, and most importantly, it no longer makes the room itself feel so hot now every single time I turn it on... if it actually does it's job though. And finally, after he installed it, the said fan enthusiast himself transferred some bucks from his bank account to the aforementioned electrician indeed, although he had to transfer them to my bank account first, then I transferred them into him anyway.

After all of those efforts, that simply concluded about how come if he decided to sent that particular ceiling exhaust fan for free to me. I didn't expect if this occurred by all of the sudden, it's because I only meant to share that YouTube community post which simply explained about how come if that bedroom lacked any proper ventilation (including those of my pictures of the room itself), but it turned out if there was a sudden miracle behind it though, particularly from one of fellow fan enthusiasts from our country that I always recognize after all these years, even if I rarely watch any of his contents on his YouTube channel anyway for various reasons, unlike what I used to constantly binge watching them more often back in those good old days, except those were from any of the random people instead (including anybody who lives outside our country)... Well then, there you have it for my overall story particularly about this, and as always, thanks for reading this exact article.

Dealing with electric fans with ball bearings...

Pretty sure if majority of electric fans (mainly for ceiling fans) do have ball bearings on each of their own motors, right? Well, there are two obvious answers for this, "yes" for ceiling fans and "no" for certain fans besides ceiling fans. The word "yes", it's clearly because almost every single ceiling fans always came equipped with ball bearings on them no matter what. On the other hand though, the word "no" also literally means not all of the portable fans do equip with ball bearings on their own motor though, with some exception of those industrial fans (which they usually equipped with ball bearings on each of them). Unfortunately though, I made a blunder on one of my portable fans that I own recently in my current house, and it was the only one that came equipped with ball bearing inside it's own motor, instead of the run-of-the-mill bushing ones. So, without further ado, let me explain about how come if I made the aforementioned mistake that I did to it.

my KDK box fan

There's not much else that I could particularly say about how come if I made the said blunder itself, it's because I was once cleaned the aforementioned fan itself (for this case, my KDK box fan). Everything about it was silly when it comes to how I cleaned it in general, albeit it was somewhat trickier than my previous fan of the exact same type that I used to own just before. Until I decided to lubricate it with a lubrication oil (instead of grease like what my fellow fan enthusiasts would strongly advise to me, just because), then I decided to test it by rotating the shaft itself with my bare fingers, it eventually made the bearing noise from it's own motor every single time. It also made the matters worse upon I powered it up, the noise from the bearing itself suddenly went louder, even if I put it's own blades on it. Simple as that, after that exact blunder that I made particularly with it, it's still makes it's own bearing noise until today, although it still runs smooth though (unlike my previous fan of the exact same type [except for different brand], which it had damaged bushings and shaft that caused it ran so stiff). Yes, it originally had bit of bearing noise since I newly acquired it from more than a year ago, except it was much less louder compared to how it sounds nowadays.

As for how one of my fellow fan enthusiasts commented on that YouTube Shorts video that I made specifically about it, here's how he briefly explained particularly about the problem itself:

"yep, bearings cannot lubricated with oil, they only can be lubricated with grease. the only way to fix it is replace both bearings to the new ones. because the grease inside must be turned liquid already due to the oil, and therefore a friction occurs to the balls. so they couldn't be fixed anymore (although you trying to add more grease to the bearings)."-immafacts

Well then, pay attention when it comes to how you treat your own electric fans with ball bearings on them, especially when you lubricate them. Lesson learned: never lubricate them with any lubrication matters besides grease, because there is no absolute way to reduce the noise itself apart from the fact you must replace it with the brand new ones for sure (results may vary per each types of the electric fans)... If you have your own experience when it comes to treating your own electric fans with ball bearings equipped on their own motors, let me know particularly about it in the comments section if you're able to. That's it for what I could specifically say to this, and as always, thanks for reading this article.

Experience with old Windows Movie Maker...🎞🎬

Note: You must be extremely careful when it comes to searching and downloading this particular old video editing software from various random sites out there. I'm not guarantee if most of them might offer some sort of fake file installers of themselves that contains any kinds of malware that may harm your computer's or laptop's entire operating system instead.

This ain't my filler article that explains about my previous article that explains about the update of the video editing software that I ever used on my current laptop that I'm using these days in general. However, I recently tried yet another video editing software that is pure free (but not trial), and it is literally the previous iteration of that particular free Windows 10 video editor that is now gone, thanks to how they decided to get rid of it in the latest version of the Photos app, unless I'd love to use the Microsoft Clipchamp instead, which I also clearly stated it briefly in the same update article of those video editors that I ever used in my current laptop... Okay, of course you probably mentioned this particular iteration of the said Windows's official free video editor before, the old Windows Movie Maker. Even though I recently use it for a bit for basic video editing (which basically just it), but I already found some of my short results when it comes to how I'm recently using it. So, without further ado, let me explain particularly about my experience with this particular old Windows video editor, right away. 🎞

There's nothing else that I could particularly say to it though, apart from the fact how Microsoft no longer supporting this particular video editing software back in January of 2017. Well, that doesn't stop it by how I was able to search it online by simply downloading the software itself until I found the installer file itself in particular, called "Windows Essentials 2012" (wlsetup.exe). With the old .NET Framework 3.5 that was already installed on my current laptop's Windows 10 operating system by default since I acquired from then (or I did it somehow by downloading and installing it particularly from one of those monthly updates from Windows Update, oh boy), it's not really a big deal for installing it either way (unless if it wouldn't present yet, I must download and install it anyway, otherwise it wouldn't work at all)... There were certain options for installing certain programs that was bundled with the "Windows Essentials 2012", such as Messenger, Mail, Writer, and most importantly, Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. Of course I obviously just chose Photo Gallery and Movie Maker only, because why not. 🎞

Upon I successfully installed and decided to open it, there's nothing else that I could particularly say to it as it works just fairly okay, until I decided to have some fun by importing some of my own photo and video files on the project file. While it literally has limited features unlike majority of the other kinds of video editors that I mentioned in those two of my article that explained about my experience of me using them, it does it's basic job as what I expected for (ranging from all kinds of basic editing that I can deliver on it, until how I'm able to export my edited video footages from it just fine), albeit the UI of it looks so different compared to the beloved classic version that used to exist in everybody's computers or laptops with Windows XP/Vista installed back in those days. Even then, this particular video editor is somewhat better compared to that free Windows 10 video editor that used to exist, thanks to how it obviously has certain features that didn't present in that free Windows 10 video editor, being one of them is the transitions between two photos or videos (albeit you can only set it between from 0.5 seconds to 2 seconds though)... Again, it does it's own basic job when it comes to editing my own videos in general, but it does have certain flaws while I'm editing any of my own video footages on it. Those are:

  1. It takes a while to import certain video files with higher resolution and larger file sizes.
  2. The edited video footage sometimes drop some frame rates while I'm tried to play it through the preview pane, unless I have to "fix" it specifically using two options from the settings of this whole video editor (can you guess about what are those two options that I'm talking about, although if I somehow "fix" it through both of those said options, it eventually leads into another problem where the whole software itself just performs partially unstable).
  3. While I put some music tracks or sound effects on the project, it's so awkward while I tried to move those bars around it no matter what.
  4. No option for adding shadow effects on the texts.
  5. No "Picture-in-Picture" option, and so for how it doesn't have an option to remove black bars on the pictures that I added them on the project.
  6. No option for turning the main editing pane from both storyboard and timeline modes, which used to exist in the classic Windows XP/Vista versions of it.
  7. While I'm applying certain hefty stuffs to the project that consists of (mostly) certain edited video footages, it sometimes causing the whole program itself to freeze and crash. It also makes the matters worse once it crashed, it sometimes refused to open until I must restart my whole laptop's operating system in order to make it work.

Well, there you have it for my experience of me using this old Windows Movie Maker in general. After that actual riddance of that free Windows 10 video editor, I don't think if I'm able to find yet another free (but not trial) video editing software that may work just decently on my current laptop with it's own modern day 🥔 specifications, just clearly stated as what I already explained in my previous articles about themselves... If you have plenty of good memories when it comes to editing your own video footages using one of these, feel free to say your experience with it in the comments section if your memory still serves them right in your own mind. That's it for what I could say to this, and as always, thanks for reading this particular article. 🎞

Bad experience with so-called "mini air cooler"...❄

Being an electric fan enthusiast in general, I also somehow interested with any of mini portable fans that I encountered, ranging from regular mini portable fans that are commonly seen at any online marketplaces (or even offline marketplaces), until all the way to certain mini portable fans that they do look so "cool"... I mean, yes I encountered those of the said mini portable fans that are so "cool", it's because the ones that I'm specifically talking about in this particular article are the ones that they always call them as a "mini air cooler" units, literally. You probably think if most of those so-called "mini air coolers" do work better than regular mini portable fans? Here is my hint particularly about them: NO! Well, it's time to find out about why, particularly about my own story about experience of using one of those "mini air cooler" units, until I decided to gave up using it anymore. ❄

1. Purchasing the aforementioned unit...❄

Before I purchased one of those units from an online marketplace, I actually watched bunch of those reviews particularly about those little units from various YouTubers. In the meantime before I purchased one of those units, there were 2 variants of themselves, and they both were manufactured and distributed under their "Arctic Air" so-called brand names on both of them. One of them was the original unit, and the other one was the "Ultra" version of it too. So, without any hesitation about which one that I would purchase, I chose the "Ultra" version by spending almost 6 bucks for it including shipping fee. After I waited for almost a week of delivery, a courier sent me the aforementioned package that contained it inside. ❄

2. Unboxing...❄

Upon I unboxed it, it turned out if I actually received a knock-off version of it, judging by how the box itself looked so different compared to their OEM versions of themselves (which I didn't even surprise me that much, because majority of the people in our country who also owns those little units are also received the same knock-off versions of themselves, even most of them had their brand names of themselves are different)... It also had a different style of the filter container as well, because the OEM version of them had more detailed looking container, meanwhile for the one that I received just simply had dull looking appearance of it. It even also had broken adjustable vanes on it too, but I was able to fix them just 🆗... Those minor problems aside, I decided to power it for the first time using it's own proprietary USB cable that came with it by simply connecting it on one of my phone chargers, then pressing the power button itself. At first glance, I thought it wouldn't work at all which resulting in waste of the said bucks over it, it actually worked just fine after I waited for few seconds right after I plugged it on one of my phone chargers that I have. However, if I left it plugged in for too long, my phone charger eventually warmed up, yet it warmed slightly more than powering majority my regular mini portable fans that I own using it. ❄

3. The "air cooling" feature...❄

Since this particular unit had an "air cooling" feature, I decided to pour some water and ice cubes on the water tank of the unit itself. Of course it dripped to the bottom part of the unit itself, that's literally because there was a tiny hole that literally presented inside the tank itself, so I had some DIY stuff by covering it with some "tapes" and superglue, and it did work just okay even if there were even more of the drips though... As for the so-called "air cooling" feature that it had, it literally sprayed out all of the water and ice cubes through that little misting component, then it sprayed out with a bit of help from that 12v/DC cooling fan that came with it in order to blow all of that moisture out from the unit itself through the filters and all of those adjustable vanes. This was also the turning point about how I finally realized if I found out the actual truth particularly about how "cool" it was. ❄

To begin with, unlike my mini portable fans that they do simply work like it should with their own fan blades that it had, it almost barely blow any air delivery, even if I put some water and ice cubes on it's own water tank, unless if I had to stand or sit right next to it approximately less than few centimeters away from the unit itself, especially during if I sweated for a whole lot... Furthermore, the way how they put that 12v/DC cooling fan inside it also made it sounded so loud, more so than average mini portable fans that I own. Encased inside cheap plastic box also made it even more "cooler" than how it would perform, because the cooling fan itself ran slower as you would expect, even if I tried to run it on full speed all the time... Moreover, even if it had a little misting component in order to spray all of that water and ice cubes out from the tank, it also didn't seem that powerful enough for cool down anything after few centimeters away (unless if the misting component itself was placed in front of the unit itself like most of the other models of those mini "air cooler" things)... It even also a complete waste of certain stuffs as well, especially the way how it emptied out all of the water from it's own water tank already, so I had to serve even more water and ice cubes if that occurred to "cool" it more, it literally because it did NOT have an evaporating component AT ALL. ❄

4. Final times with it...❄

After a while I used it as an underpowered daily beater since I purchased it, it eventually ran into a major problem where it's own USB proprietary cable got eaten by stupid mice. So, that was basically it, even if I clearly promised in the outro part of my YouTube video of me unboxing the whole unit itself in order to make my additional demonstration of it about how it performs "cooler" with water and ice cubes in it... That simply concluded if I totally failed to make my aforementioned video about it in general, which also resulting it in a short hiatus for not using it for few moments later, until I decided to buy some proprietary USB cables from an online marketplace. ❄

Upon I powered it back up, I noticed if it ran way slower than before, even if I didn't bother to put water and ice cubes on it. This was also the time if I decided to tear the whole thing apart, and I messed around with that little PCB module that was located just beneath those speed indicator lights, power button, and light button to turn on and off colorful LED light that was located right behind the water tank itself... I decided to mess around the module itself to make the fan itself run faster by powering it directly using 12v/DC adapter, but it ended up causing the module itself just warmed a lot quicker than usual 5v/DC ones that it originally had. Not too long after I did so, I eventually "powered" it again, except I did that into some sort of inverter component that causing the whole module itself shorted, thus completely killed the whole module itself. Even if I killed the said module, I was able to salvage the 12v/DC cooling fan that came with it, it did work just fine with the 12v/DC adapter, albeit it also caused the fan itself to warm up so quickly as well. Not too long after I successfully powered it, the instant karma suddenly occurred on me due to the fact I accidently broke one of the blades after I accidently made it fell near to the heavyweight marble tissue tray that is placed on the top of my living room's table! So that was it, no more purpose of using it anymore after I broke it off, even if I tried to "fix" it, but it obviously didn't work at all... As for what's left from the unit itself, I got rid all of those plastic pieces by smashing them to bits, then I also set them ablaze as well. Even if I got rid all of those pieces, I actually salvaged all of those screws that used to hold the cooling fan itself though before I got rid them, except for one of them that was badly rusted. With all of that final riddance, that was the complete end of me using the unit itself in general. ❄

That concludes about my experience with that so-called "mini air cooler" unit. I don't think if I can get another one of those little units that is way better than that, it's because I already found the actual truth if it didn't seem to work as what they "advertised", specifically for those of the cheaper variants of themselves. Even if I no longer own it anymore, I did some in-depth research about how "cool" those little units are from various YouTubers, and they also realized if those little units are suck balls... Anyway, back to the unit itself that I got rid of. Waste of money, waste of resources, and waste of all of my useless efforts in order to make it "cooler", but it turned out if it led to even more "cooler" problems that caused it stopped working afterwards. So, that's particularly it for what I could say to this overall experience with one of those so-called "mini air cooler" units... Lesson learned: just get regular mini portable fans or just simply get one of those DC cooling fans for much cheaper price. If you really want to cool down your room, just buy and install an actual air conditioner if you're able to. Or, you can make your own homemade air cooler that probably works better than one of those little units out there.

Well then, that's it for what I told about my overall experience with one of those little units, and pay full attention when you will eventually deal with one of those things out there. ❄
